be yourselfI am going to sleepaway camp for the whole summer- got any advice?
Just don't be awkward or stoker-ish and bring things that make you feel comfortable no matter where you are. like a favorite pillow or bear. I've been to summer camps a couples of times and each time I took this really small, like slightly bigger than a beanie baby, teddy fish. I've loved that things since I was little and I still sleep with it under my pillow lol. Be nice but dont force people to like you. Just like in life be careful about what you pursue until you're sure its what you really want. Take advantage of every opportunity and face your fears. They wont let you do anything that will kill you. For the love of God please do not let anyone talk you into thinking streaking in the woods at night is a good idea. Its NOT! Take plenty of tube socks and long pants if you go camping or sleep in a wooded area at night to keep ticks and nasty grossness from crawling up your legs. Take an outfit that can handle rain just in case. take more than 1 bathing suit so you can have an option. Take stationary to write home if you get homesick. Find a way to maintain your hair, skin, ect so don't go back home looking like Tom Hanks in Cast Away. But over all if no one knows you just think of it as a new start and open up and try to have fun.
