Any advice on getting a Foot Tattoo?

I'm turning 18 in-29 days, and I really want to go get a tattoo. It'll be my first tattoo and I really want to get the lyrics ';I hope you dance'; tattooed on the outside of my foot. I was just wondering what to expect and any advice?Any advice on getting a Foot Tattoo?
i wouldnt get it on your foot

1. itll HURT

2. it will prob fade pretty quickly, the outide of hyour foot sheds lots of skin because it rubs on your sock/ shoe ALOT when you walk)

it would be alot better to get it on your calf or something, trust itll pay off later when you can still show it off rather than it being a bunch of fady blobs( and calf will hurt less)Any advice on getting a Foot Tattoo?
well, congratulations in advance on your first tattoo. just relax more than anything. eat before you go and drink orange juice. it helps bleeding to slow down...or that's what i heard anyway. i did both when i got my first tattoo and it turned out great.

when you get there, they are going to have you fill out a form basically giving them permission to tattoo you and then they'll have you go back to the room, they'll set up right in front of you so you can see that the needle and everything is 1 time use. make sure, the needle and ink is being used for the first time. most places do that now. then the tattooist will put the outline on you, to make sure you like the placement, and then when you give your approval, the tattooist will start the tattoo.

when you go, the anticipation is worse than the actual tattoo, so try to just relax, maybe take a friend with you so you have someone to talk to. my tattoo is on my shoulder blade, so i can't speak from personal experience on getting a tattoo on the foot, but regardless of the level of pain you feel, or if you feel any at all, because some people say they don't, just remember that it won't last forever, and you will always have a beautiful piece of art to admire.

when the tattoo is done, they'll put a bandage over it, and tell you what you need to do to take care of it. keep it out of direct sun/water until it's completely healed. do not pick at it or scratch it for it may result in color loss. clean it with antibacterial soap and apply lubriderm to it, or another cream/lotion that the tattooist tells you. make sure the lotion is unscented.
I have both my feet tattooed, a large floral tattoo on both. It is very painful, by far the worst pain I have felt in my life so far (I have another tattoo plus genital piercings!), but it did take 3 hours so that made it worse. Yours shouldn't be too bad. The worst thing about my feet tattoos was the itching, it was horrendous! I couldn't help it in the end I just had to scratch them and I did pull a little ink off but they healed okay. Also they swell really bad for a few hours and you can't wear any shoes that rub. Other than that piece of cake! I know I make it sound really bad but it's better to be prepared, and if you're brave enough to go for it foot tattoos are gorgeous!
i have 11 tattoos and the one on my feet by far hurt the worst, and i consider myself to have a high tolerance to pain! the part on the outside especially hurt but in my opinion it was totally worth it. it should be over fairly quickly so it might not be that bad (mine is fairly large and took about 1 1/2 hours each foot to do). be careful not to wear sandals until it fully heals otherwise if the straps rub against the tattoo it will pull the color out. it is always recommended to eat something before hand so that you don't get too queasy. keeping a conversation going helps take your mind off the pain as well. good luck!
what to expect?

well, in my opinion it getting tats feels like hairs being plucked at rapid speed, other than that, nothing else really to expect. know what your gonna say when u get in there, no tattoo artist likes a person who doesnt know what they want, you can ask them to build on your idea though.

make sure you eat somethign before u go.
when i asked about a foot tattoo (i also want one) all the people answered yes it does hurt but it does not fade any quicker than a regular one. They all said if you wear no shoes and stay off of it for about 2 weeks then it will be ok and it will not fade or rub off any faster than a tattoo placed somewhere else. oh and i like your quote!
Expect healing to be a bit more complicated. You're going to have to be careful what kind of shoes you wear for a while, and make sure you put lotion on it all the time. Foot tattoos will fade faster than others because your shoes and socks are constantly rubbing on them. Other than that, nothing.
Expect lots of pain and little satisfaction as you will wear shoes and nobody will see it.
i was watching miami ink and getting a tat on your foot is supposed to be real painful..
