Relax. Take a deep breath. She is coming to your home and therefore, should at least be polite. But remember, now you are family, so people do tend to speak their minds. You don't need to buy a gift, just make sure she has a comfortable place to sleep, clean sheets, towels, maybe make up a nice guest room tray with guest soaps, chocolates, tourist books about the area, etc. For a nice gesture, ask your brother what she likes to eat and drink and have nice snacks around.

If you want to buy her a gift, make it something specific from NZ.

Good luck!Help need advice! should i get gifts?sister in law....?
okay, so I know how you feel. I am from a completely different way of life from my in laws. Just remember that as long as you are friendly and yourself you will be fine. I get nervous everytime my inlaws are in town, but I go about my normal life, and do not worry what they think about me. This sounds bad but if you look for their flaws it will make you more comfortable in yourself. Good luck, and dont be nervous.
Hopefully your husband loves you for who you are, so just be yourself. If your sister-in-law and her husband don't ';approve';, well, they'll be gone in a few days. Try not to let it get to you.
no need for you to get gifts for her she should get you one as you are the hostess

just be yourself and dont worry
