Advice on getting a second dog?

We have a 2 year old goldendoodle and are thinking of apopting a 1 year old goldendoodle. Any advice on getting a second dog? Things I should consider etc. Thanks!Advice on getting a second dog?
Not every dog enjoys having a second dog in the house. Would you consider fostering this dog in an effort to see how your first dog takes to having a second dog before making the lifelong commitment of adoption?

Aside from that, as long as you can afford to properly care for a second dog and your current dog will enjoy it, I think it is a great idea!

Make sure you introduce them properly on neutral territory. Make sure you feed them seperately until you know for sure neither of them is food aggressive. (this happens and does not mean your dog is bad) Sharing things, such as toys and beds, can be an issue. Make sure they are always supervised when together. If you cannot supervise them, even for a few minutes, crate them until you learn your new dog and both dogs have decided who is who in the pack.

Best wishes and thank you for adopting!Advice on getting a second dog?
Have a meet and greet and possibly a sleep over prior to adopting. There will be fights. It's just expected but dogs always work better in pairs or packs unless raised till old age alone. You should be fine just remember the expenses of adding a second dog. Twice the food twice the pooh! Good luck!
My feelings are that dogs are like socks... it's better to have a pair!

Seriously though, if you can afford the care and have the time for a second dog, go for it. Your other dog will probably appreciate the company.

Thanks for adopting and not going to a BYB!
Dogs are also like children and when you have multiples you need to be prepared for multiple personalities. Be prepared to be the pack leader. I also suggest one of each gender - there seems to be a smoother transition that way.
well it depends alot on you rhousehold your dogs sexes and your abilities to handle more. More time is required for two, though they might play a bit with each other eventually.
Make sure the one u want to get is good with other dogs, also if they are opposite genders and u don't want puppies, make sure to get the guy neutered.
ugh...i love dogs so i think u should get another one...but can u take care of it?
